    Hello,
I'm playing lineage2, and without fraps i have at least 30fps at city or any other similar place, anywhere esle i have 50-90, but when i'm starting to fraps my game, fps drops to 1-10.
I'm using drivers from dell website, windows 7 64bit OS, Q9000 cpu, 260GTX video, and 256G SSD
1900x1080 32bit resolution. Before reinstal, everything was fine, around 30 fps when frapsing...
another problem, that i cannot start nvidia control panel.
I've tried to install nvidia drivers for video card from nvidia website, but setup said that i dont have any supported video card...
    any ideas?

Are you sure you're using the proper drivers for your 260m gtx? Usually don't get that message unless you are trying to install improper drivers. Make sure you download and use the drivers from the dell site, not from nvidia themselves. The drivers on the nvidia site are prolly for desktop 260 gtx cards, not for the laptop version that you have.

I would suggest using MSI Afterburner rather than Fraps to get your fps in game. I believe I read someplace that it uses less resources, I tried it out before and it can also show your internal temps in game.

Less resources as in ram ? Cause it doesnt use the cpu and it barely uses 3mb at max :p

Dunno, just what I read somewhere on NBR. Said that fraps running can actually lower your fps sometimes and that MSI does not. Could have been a fan-boy shovelling it too, but I tried it out and like it more than Fraps. I just like it for the temp readings in game honestly, I have never seen a hit to fps using either of them myself.

Doesnt really make a difference if you are not recording, probably like 1fps loss max which is nothing :p

As for the issue vagiz has, im suffering from the same, even with older games like quake 3. I have to drop the resolution bellow 1***x*** to get a decent/playable framerate while recording.

cpu load when frapsing is around 20%, ram 1gb+~
interesting thing, that i can fraps easy to external hdd drive
but it happening only to SSD drive.
another thing, hdtune shows minimum 176MB/s performance, and that external hdd only 35MB/s

I've tried win 7 64 bit chipset and video drivers from dell website, but after that was impossible to use nvidia control panel, SSD drive did max 27MB/s reading performance... after uninstall (windows drivers)more thant 176MB/s..
I dont know what to do..

now i'm running vista 64 drivers (chipset+video), nvidia cp is working fine atm, hdtune shows great performance, 3dmark as well, 140fps when not frapsing, but when frapsing to SSD i have 1-10fps... I've tried to format and change hdd blocks size, but nothing changes...
    edit: fraps version 2.9.1

I was having a screwed up problem with my framerate bouncing from up around 60-100fps down to ZERO every few seconds when I was using fraps.

Well, that was while I was trying to record the videos to C: on my primary SSD. Once I set fraps to save video to my secondary HDD (5400rpm 500gb WD), I now get a solid 30fps in Mount & Blade Warband on max settings, including UNLIMITED corpses and ragdolls. If you've ever played M&B, there can be hundreds of bodies all over the damn place in the bigger battles. I'll be posting up some videos to my youtube this weekend.
