Congrats! when I got mine it was like a few minutes before I had to be in class so I got to bring it in, set it in my bedroom and then wait like 3 hours in classes until I got to open it.

Congrats Vesalio! I'm glad it got through the border . . . that would have been a disaster otherwise.
    Alien invasion FTW. :)

odessa, yes i had to pay taxes to cross it the border, besides the shipping costs, the total amount i had to pay was roughly 400$ Dls, or 3862 pesos, it surprised me really, becaue it was something i didnt expected, but it seems it was all worth it heheh

Gratz Vesalio, also my machine was delayed; I'm in Guatemala south from you but no prob for the Alien to do some mind control over customs agents to cross borders, lol.

I believe that they don't charge sales tax for international orders.

Instead you get to pay more for shipping and customs taxes.

i didn't have to pay sales tax when ordering, but i got a letter from DHL a week after recieving my laptop, which stated that i owed DHL a truely exorbitant amount of money for sales tax (apparently, the shipping company has to collect this because they're bringing it over the border).

7,6% i believe, that is what i paid...swiss VAT. Then plus 10 franc "handling cost"...

yeah, 7.6%... which doesn't sound like a lot, but with a laptop costing close to 3000 francs...

Oh, 7.6% sounds better than the 10-15% the DHL office here estimated how much I have to pay for mine :(

I had to pay the standard 12% sales tax in Canada. Other than that shipping was free and they stated there will be no duty or brokerage charges.
