i dropped a cup of water accidentally on it then it automatically shut down.
switched it off from the power supply turn it upside down and dried it very well.
after 30 minutes (couldn't wait more) tried to turn it on and nothing happens ,then i said to myself " good bye my alienware " ,then i tried to turn it on using internal graphic card only (hold the right click on the T-pad) it turned on !!
everything was ok thanks god .. i switch it back to the 8800gtx using binary GFX and it restarted with the 8800 ON ! then i was able to power on using it.

WOW ... i though i lost ,that was close.

I definitely would let it dry for a lot longer than 30 minutes if you want to keep using that laptop. Moisture + current = damaged components.
Give it a day or two just to be sure.

Also pull the battery out. If moisture or fluid gets in there, it can get ruined. Leave the battery cover off to let moisture escape.

air it out longer! i once dropped a flash drive in water and only let it dry overnight. It worked fine for a day then simply stopped working.

Remove the battery, let it dry, depending on the amount of water and the device, up to 5 days, do not use the blowdryer. That's the "normal" procedure :) You're a lucky one ;)
