These drivers are for Windows Vista (32-Bit and 64-Bit) and Windows 7 ONLY. If you dont' see a specific Windows 7 driver, that's because the Vista Driver works in Windows 7.

For Windows XP Drivers see here:

Excellent, thank you very much! Any specific reason you picked that Catalyst version over any others?

Very nice thread. This was the final push i needed for swapping over to W7. Just a quick question, does anyone have his turbo memory working?? i have the lastest drivers installed and i got the little icon in the lower right corner but when i right click on it and want to launch the memory dashboard it tells me the Turbo memory is not working properly or not present. In deveice manager it says its working correct.

FPS can you provide me with the link to the Turbo Memory Drivers from MyHive, I don't have them in my account as I didn't get it with my system, but if you can get the link I can update page 1 of this thread.
    Thanks.

hi marvie you posted somewhere about gpu drivers and told someone about 9.10 beta and 9.11 beta which i stumbled across

just to let you know 9.10 id tried before and its noooo good for m17 but the 9.11 driver you said seems to be good im using it now and so far its ok no increase in vantage ( well like maybe 1point) but gta4 is less glitchey

so cheers bud for info :)

p.s unless they release 9.10 as 9.11 their gonna be hell on i think

gta4 crashes and bf2 is coverd in dark patches.

Sorry that was under vista ultimate 64 but i kept getting more and more BSOD and imo it started once i installed the turbo memory driver. Also i aint an AW user. I got mine at Killernotebooks but since the owner (mark Mueller) dissapeared from the earth and the OCZ forums here are also dead i tried all the drivers u linked now that i swapped to W7 ( still RC build 7100). The Turbo memory drivers were the one from the intell site. device manager listed them as working correct but i couldnt enable anything in the console.

Also maybe there is more people like me out there with Whitebooks and didnt buy it from AW. Would it perhaps be possible to explain what all the specific AW downloads do?

One more thing, i got me the 9.9 drivers and modded them and its working fine except that afther w7 has finished booting up i get a message telling me CCC Host has stopped working. crossfire is working but when i right mouse click on desktop i cant get the catalyst window anymore. Any idea?

Was thinking of using them 9.11 beta ones but i have no idea what i need to grab from this site http://developer.amd.com/gpu/ATIStreamSDKBetaProgram/Pages/default.aspx#five

Any chance u could help me out on this one also?

Seems i cant register on the Site getting errors all over. Perhaps someone has another link plz?

So what video card options do we have then as M17 users? HD4850 in crossfire or can we even get the 4870 with GDDR5? I read about the different MXM types but i have no idea what MXM we got in our machines. Anyone could inform me on this?

Also when i bought my Nagamaki and Mark had not disappeared yet he told me Intel Turbo memory would not work in it untill a new bios where they would enable it (0.28 bios) The bios links u put up there, are these more recent then 0.28?

M17/OCZ Whitebooks have MXM 2.1b, the 4870's will not fit, and good luck getting any 4850's as they were just produced for AW in limited quantities to clear stock of the M17. /OFFTOPIC

Updated Turbo Memory Drivers based on what information I have to date.

I've confirmed that the win7 media card driver for Dell m17x also works with Alienware M17. The driver is newer than M17's VISTA driver, and it officially supports win7.

AW Didn't post release notes for their BIOS. I provided notes based off of what we've learned from Alienware about each BIOS. The latest "OFFICIAL" Alienware BIOS is B14, the OCZ BIOS is not an Alienware BIOS and should only be used if you have a burning desire to OC your Extreme processor, and read the Notes for the BIOS I've posted.

The vista 64 driver also works, but it is older than m17x's and it is not officially designed for win7. I have problem with installing M17 win7 64 touch pad driver. The driver said "no device found". So, I downloaded a OEM touchpad driver from Synaptics website and it works fine. Why does Alienware post a new driver without testing it???

well Ive lost a few points in 9.10 from 9.9 in 3Dmark06 but performance feels about the same in most games.
I did have some strange problems installing 9.10 and I had to use system restore to fix it.
Ive since reinstalled 9.10 on a clean install of Windows 7 and it installed properly if a lot slower than previous Catalyst installations.

I would say go for it and dont think you would have anything to lose and perhaps gain a little better performance.

    good luck.

The only command center that works with Win 7 is the Win 7 one. The vista one AlienFusion piece doesn't work. So if you're on Win 7, use the Win 7 Command Center.

    Hi Marvie,

    I installed some software that The Moo linked to called Connectify for Windows 7. Well I couldnt get it working so contacted support and got this;

The Intel 5100/5300 series has a driver update available (version 13.0.0.107) on Intel's site that fixes this issue. However support on 32bit Windows installs seems a bit flaky. We are seeing much greater success with 64bit Windows 7 and these devices.

    Best Regards

    Brian

    Connectify Support

just thought you should know.....could be an update somewhere!

Ok I've got Windows 7 up and running on my M17 and everything is working great except that the AW eSATA Win 7 drivers don't work with my WD MyBook 1TB External HD. Going back to using the OEM version as that was the only one that seemed to work (at least half the time anyways).

Alienware doesn't put dates with their drivers, and the links to the OEM drivers go to their pages with the latest version on them, so putting dates on it would be impossible and would require more maintenance then I really wanted to put into the page. So far everything is as current as it gets.

    Hey there,

I am new but i have been looking around in this forum for hours! I downloaded all the Bios drivers but none of them works, there seems to be missing an EXE. file to install or flash the bios. Could i please ask you if i could use someones AW login to go to there hyve and get the bios for my AW M17? I bought one on Ebay and AW does not want to help me out whatsoever!

    Thanks in advance all!
Ps: I could use the Keyboard update 2 if that could be possible!

I noticed a few problems after downgrading from vista to xp on the M17... Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was looking for a fix. Fn key + F8 doesn't make your screen brighter nor does Fn + F7 make your screen lighter. And none of the hot keys at the top work.
