have you guys updated? I usually go like "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", so I rarely update right away. Have you seem/heard of any problems or particular benefits/speedups with 10.4.9?

Haven't had any problems with 10.4.9 yet. Haven't noticed any improvements either though.

    1. eject button must be held to eject cds (which is great bc i often hit it by accident).
    2. according to some members from macforums, brightness is improved in iMacs, MB, & MBP (I can't tell the diff).
    3. sound level is greatly improved (I have not verified this as well)

Oh wow! That's great! I was wondering why I haven't accidentally ejected my CD once ever since the update!
It does seem that brightness has improved a bit - it now hurts my eyes.
Don't know about the sound...I use earphones all the time :(

Installed it when it first came out. No problems here, although it had an issue with mainmenu, a small program that I use to run general maintenance tasks. But just had to upgrade it and all is now fine.

ps don't notice any difference at all between 8 and 9. That could be good or bad depending on what you were wanting.

On my blackjack all i have to do is pair it with my mbp...then run internet sharing on my blackjack...then click connect on my mpb....thats all there is too it....before i had to use a usb cable and a blackberry driver to get it to work... not sure if that helps but that is all i know...thats the idea behind the PAN profile...no special settings or numbers to dial...your phone has to support it though

I noticed that I have 802.11N support now. I don't recall installing the patch either.

To check if you have 802.11N support, go to network utility and select the wifi NIC.
