On another note: just googled the voodoo you mentioned to check it out... and omg... Apple has been out-done :O -

everytime i see a MBA i gotta say this.
i dont know what all the buzz with ppl calling the MBA 'razor thin' it is not really thin, it is actually an optical illusion (a good one at that
) the case is actually curved, the thickest part is actually along the back bottom of the laptop. it is really not that special. it is not at all groundbreaking with most of today's laptop being so thin.
what is impressive is when SONY created a genuinely razor thin laptop years ago (2003) the respectable sony VAIO X505 http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=1970. 10" display, user replaceable battery, 2 usb slot, 1 fw port. in that time, laptop were not as thin as it is today; it is really ground breaking during its release. -
That is the owner of Voodoo. Rahul or something like that. That was when Voodoo was about to release the Voodoo Envy 133. It's actually an amazing little system. Voodoo have also hinted around about a dedicated GPU offering that will connect to this system externally, to increase gaming performance.
I think it would be something to keep a close eye on. Plus I think Voodoo ar calling it the MBA killer. -
It's all about style.. OH YEAH!
-
That Sony was quite thin but alas it was a very poor design. The keyboard was next to impossible to type on because the keys were so small and there was no palm rest. Way too much flex in the screen so it was doomed to crack even from light pressure. It was also way out there in price ($3k) for such a low CPU processor. It was discontinued after the second version.
Although the MBA is limited in features the build quality is second to none. I haven't seen a notebook anywhere with casing as strong and well built as the MBA. -
Rahul Sood, former CEO of Voodoo, now is the president of HP's Gaming division, or some title along those lines.
It was at his birthday party a couple of weeks before the release of the Envy 133, and was the first tipoff that Voodoo was going to pull an ultraportable competitor to the MBA. -
The VooDoo Envy 133 is impressive. I prefer the MacBook Air design (the Envy's complete square shape isn't too nice in my opinion) but its good competition!
-
...fanboy
I personally prefer the Envy 133. Its a much more premium product, and offers some nice features that I like. Plus, I think the MacBook Air is far overpriced for what it is.

I agree. I'd take strong, durable carbon fiber over easy-denting aluminum any day
I just wish Apple would switch to carbon fiber....
-
Carbon fibre, yes, but not glossy piano black!
That thing will scratch so easily and look terrible!
-
Better than turning yellow like my friends Macbook
-
INEEDMONEY Homicidal Teddy Bear
I'm sorry, but I would not let my friend use that expensive MBA to cut yellow cake w/choco frosting
-
I think this proves Rahul Sood has a pretty good sense of humor.
He actually does some prtty witty blogging at www.thenextbench.com -
why would he want to get his MacBook Air dirty?
