Well im running out of time to make a laptop choice in time for xmas.
Ive been shopping around for a smaller notebook that can handle some multimedia applications. And since im also and novice musician ive been looking at Apple's G4 12 inch ibook 1.2ghz as both a mobile solution and a new platform for recording and making my music via garageband (ive played with this in school and thinks its very cool).

Right of the bat i know ill need more then the standard 30gb hdd but since a 60gb upgrade isnt too backbreaking this really isnt a problem
Ive never owned a mac so i dont know exactly if a 1.2 ghz mac generally runs smoother then a similar pc. And is the 1.2ghz platform going to be enough to handle dvd viewing, lite gaming (if there was any really intensive game i wanted to play it would be on my pc anyway), multitask (music, web, and word processing apps I frequently run at the same time).

I really like the style of the ibook better then any windows based laptop i found and the slot disc drive is very cool to me. Basically I just need to know how the small ibook will run because as I said i have little experience with macs.

thanks and sorry for the long rant
