After a week of playing with my new ibook im really impressed with this product. Apple has definatly put alot of money into the design of their portables. The 12" ibook feels solid and is really cool just to look at. The light up apple logo on the back of the screen is a nice touch as well.
This is the first apple ive owned since the late 80's, so i was really unsure how a 1.2ghz, 512ram ibook would perform compared to a similar pc. I have to say im impressed how fast and smoothly this machine runs, just for fun i downloaded a few game demos that i barely met the requirements for and they actually ran much better then i expected. With a 60gb hd and the possibilty of an external upgrade via usb 2.0 or firewire the ibook offers pleny of space.
The only downfall here for me has been getting used to OSx. Thats not to say i dont like it as i have found it very easy to use for the most part but since ive been using windows based computers for so long its been a bit of a learning curve. I love the stability mac offers and I have yet to run into any software issues (not to say its perfect but i havent noticed anything major)
I would recommend checking out Apple if your looking for a really nice laptop at a really good price (with a student discount I payed under $1100. And with all the included software here thats really hard to beat.

hey TerrorEyez, that's great news that you like the iBook so much and thanks for the feedback. If you could rate your notebook using our "rate a notebook" tool it would be really cool, here's a link to that:

Today i purchased a linksys wireless g router and the ibook easly connected to my network of 4 pc's. the airport which comes standard on the ibook works really well so anyone concerned about osx and windows connectivity shouldnt worry too much. i got my network setup using the new router in little time at all.
