Brightness: cd/m² 225
Black 100 cd/m2 cd/m² 0.13
Black at max cd/m² 0.29
Contrast 100 cd/m2 769:1
Contrast at max 776:1
These are very, very good scores except for the brightness, which they say it's not that comfortable for working outside.
Unfortunately they have not mentioned what screen it is.

Great! thanks for shearing!

Very nice screen but too bad about the brightness. It's not as good for outside work as the MBA or first gen 13" uMB. Those get about 300 cd/m².
-
but is it less bright then previous version?
-
-
what about rev.a?
-
It's not as good for outside work as first gen 13" uMB. Those get about 300 cd/m².
but every 13" MBP panel will have different characteristics. There's at least 4 or 5 panels going around. -
So other might have better brightness?
-
They answered, it was a 9C9E display.
-
wasn't that the one that members at macrumors reported as "bad"?

How odd....225 nits is not bright enough to comfortably watch videos. That was my entire complaint with ccfl screens b/c I always felt that videos looked too dark.
Contrast ratio looks great, though. 40% brightness and watching a 225 nit screen = a mirror. I could never watch anything at that brightness playing a dvd , let alone a tv show like Lost or movies with dark scenes. In anything but pitch black darkness, you're going to be seeing your own reflection. -
well, those guys are pro ,and if they say that the display is good, I believe them
-
Actually 225 nits is more than enough for watching videos inside the house. Most average laptops don't even reach 200 nits.
But 225 is not enough for outside/bright weather with a glossy display with a glass layer in front of it. -
I was debating on getting a 13" Macbook Pro an getting rid of my 15" Macbook Pro due to battery life. My 15" Macbook Pro just doesn't seem to get much battery life and I'm using a Vertex SSD. It seems like 2-3 hours max with bluetooth turned off and just web browsing along with brightness at 50-60%.
Any thoughts on battery life between the 15" and 13" using a 2.53 processor and SSD? -
The battery in the new MBPs are not only larger physically, but they are constructed differently to achieve their long battery life.
Anandtech did an article on it and found out that the battery cells are actually sheets instead of cylinders to maximize the space used. The 15" MBP has the best battery life out of the MBP line.
