Hi i was wondering if you could right click with a macbook pro on the touchpad. I have heard you can by clicking both your fingers or something and i also heard it doesn't work on only 15inch pros. Anyone know if you can or cant. I hate press ctrl all the time.

You just put two fingers on the touchpad and then click the button AFAIK. I'm not a Mac user, but I think this is the way to do it. Try it out.

Right clicking with the touchpad works on all Mac laptops. I don't know where you're hearing that it doesn't work on the MBP.

Anyways, go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Trackpad and check the box that says "Place two fingers on trackpad and click button as secondary click". Once you do that you can place two fingers on the touchpad and press the mouse button and it becomes a right click.

If you want to use right click further: if you enable tapping on the touchpad to create a click, you can tap the touchpad with two fingers and that also becomes a right click. Very useful.

Or you can press control and move both fingers across the mouse pad, just like you would when scrolling only keep your finger on control. See what happens ;)

Anyone know if there are drivers for windows so that you can have similar right-click ability when using bootcamp?

It most likely will if MacStation got new shipments. Ask them personally about it, they probably won't lie to you.

Not yet; that's expected in future Boot Camp releases. Since Boot Camp will be finalized in October it won't be too long until that's done.

You'll find out ;). But if you must, highlight the next sentence :D.

It zooms into the screen. Its a very minor feature, but its useful every now and then.

The two finger click half works in boot camp. You have to press the button rather than tap the touchpad though.

Yeah, two finger click definitely works in boot camp but like M@lew said, you have to put two fingers on the pad then click the button (just as you would in OSX if you didn't have the touch pad active for tap-clicking).

So if, as Sam says, Boot Camp will be finalized in October, can we expect to have the two-finger-tap working then? Or do we expect the two-finger-plus-click to be the way it works then, too?

we can hope, but we can't expect. there are various other issues with boot camp that together make windows unusable as a main operating system on the macbook pro... its likely that the issues will be resolved by the final release.

I'm curious... and not finding my answer through the search tool... does right clicking in bootcamp work with an external (wireless or bluetooth) mouse?

I've also noticed that while using boot camp (vista), that only vertical scrolling works with the two fingers. I liked having horizontal and vertical in OSX. oh well, i'm on an external mouse about 75% of the time.

It took a little while to get used to for the right-click. Now, when i step onto other laptops, i find myself trying the two finger click for right-click. I think now i prefer that way of clicking instead of a hardware button (on a touchpad).

Yeaps, works great. Go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Trackpad, and go down to Trackpad Gestures and check the Clicking box.
