    i used to have the 15" macbook pro. how does this one compare in size and weight and is it worth the extra money?

    I've owned both and it is noticeably bigger and there are a lot less options for cases but it is the most portable 17" notebook i've seen/owned. If its worth the extra money is up to you, I personally don't think so and dont think you'll see any real noticeable performance gain so you will be mostly paying for more pixels. i opted to use the money I saved to buy a nice 22" external monitor.
