I want this but man $3000CDN? For real apple? Can someone tell me why i have to unload 30 bills to get a computer up to my standards? Im a graphic designer so im always using graphic apps. But no gaming. I was told to settle for nothing less than i7. I mean i would settle for 15.4'' bbut its only i5!!!

dang stupid i5... sheesh... you tell them!

you can't justify it because you don't have a clue what any of it means or what you need.

Core i7 isn't necessary, but certainly a good thing to have.

If you can't afford it, i5 is just as good. If you want i7, but can't afford a Mac with i7, you can get a regular laptop with much better specs for half the price.

I can afford it but i just cant see any value in blowing 3k on a i7 laptop. From what i was told graphic apps would benefit with i7. Not sure how noticable the improvement would be but however.

The face that apple is way overpriced and i can get PC with similar specs for 1/3 the price is why ive always owned PC all my life. If it wasnt for the fact i do graphic design, trust me apple prices arent justifiable to me for the triple cost.

Right now im eyeing the 15'4 i5 but thats $1850!!! Ridiculous! You would think for that price gouging they could at the very least put 8GB ram in.

Sucks they don't print Canadian $1000 bills anymore, then it would only be 3 bills!

It all depends on what kind of graphics apps you are using, you might not need a i7.

Get the 15" with the higher resolution screen instead, and don't get the i7.

The performance difference between i7-620 and the i5-520 isn't huge. Something like 15% or something in synthetic benchmarks or shaving off a couple seconds here or there.

Well he is saying PC's are a third the price and he's been PC all his life. Honestly with the way his post looked, not sure a Mac is really a fit for him?

    Just my Opinion

3K for an Apple i7 is not bad considering an AW-Dell i7 core would hit you with more than that. Like someone would complain about an AW that costs double the price of an Asus that can do the "same" thing. If you want something cheaper that fits the needs that you laid out, go for other brands/models.

Bottom line you are paying for a brand name. I don't need to have a Rolex to keep time, but if I "want" a Rolex then I should be ready to dole out the $, the argument of an overpriced tool is moot for Apple products and its fan base.

And I doubt that you "would settle for an 15.4" Apple", since you would probably come back and asking for "justification" of why the Apple i5 is more than others that would work for you out there.

    cheers ..,.

Looking through your history it looks like you are using a 4+ year old Vaio currently (Sony Vaio 1.73 Pentium M / 2GB Ram / 80GB 5400rpm / Onboard video) I think even a non i series would be a serious update for you. Why do you think you need to jump to an i7 when the Sony has been working for you for over 4 years?
