I'm not quite sure when it happend, but I've got 2 weird problems of late. First of, my clock is standard 2 hours ahead -> when I open it, it automatically returns to the correct time, but after every restart the time is 2 hours ahead again.

The second weird problem I have is with MS office 2008. When I double click a word document, the program opens but it doesn't open the document. IE. Word opens, but the screen stays white. Even when Word is already open, double clicking any document doesn't do a thing (even though Word is set as the standard program). If I go to file and than open in Word itself, I can open a document fine, but it's just annoying.

The same goes for the first problem...it's not preventing me to work or anything, but it is VERY annoying. Is there anyone who's had similair problems and if so, were you able to fix it?

Did you accept the 10.5.3 Update? Perhaps this update broke something? Just so you know, I am running 10.5.3 on my Macbook and while I don't have ms office but I do notice that every time I double click any file, the appropriate application opens showing the file and not a blank page. I also do not have any problems at all with my clock.

I would say that check your time zone. You need to choose the right time zone
I am not sure of this question, but right click on the document and select "get info". there you can find the default application to open your document.
Hope that this one works. I do not think that it has anything to do with the update thing, just a small issue.

It did happen after 10.5.3, but I'm not sure if that's what caused it. My timezone is correct and after I open the time options it automatically goes to the right time... Could it have something to do with the fact that i've recently switched to a different inet provider (my uni) and I have to manually connect to the internet (802.1x authentication bullcrap) - preventing the clock from contacting a timeserve. If so, I just find it weird that it doesn't remember the time from last time or just check after I've connected to the internet.

As for the MS office thing. As said Office is my default program for *.doc's, and when I double click a file it does automatically start up Office 2008. It just doesn't load the document I clicked in it (As if you started word with a regular blank page). The only way to actually see the document I want is by going through the menu and selecting [open document] and finding my doc. So double clicking a document DOES load MS office2008, just not the document itself in it.

Yes i had the exact same problem.. Not sure what I did, but i kept messing with the time zones and switching it to different ones. I took off the set automatic time zone thingy and clicked on the Lock on the bottom right of the screen to lock the settings. it worked for 1 day then went back to giving weird time. i then put it back on set date/time automatically...and tada, its been working ever since. not sure what it could be.

Well the PRAM holds time zone and daylight savings info so you can try clearing it (by holding command, option, P, R on boot up 3x) and then reset the time zone. Otherwise the chip on the logic board that actually holds the time can be cleared by removing the battery (and disconnected from the power adapter).
