are both 2.8 and 3.06 processors on the macbook pro 35W or is the 2.8 a 25W and if it is, how much more energy efficient is it?
thank you very much

They both have a TDP of 35W but the 2.8 will use slightly less power at max load than the 3.06
EDIT : Both CPU`s features below.

the 2.8 has the turbo boost mode available? According to the intel site yes, but do you think it is possible to activate it in OSX? I doubt it, since that would defeat the purpose of the 3,06ghz model, don't you think?
I remember the dell xps 1730 had that processor and you could use turbo boost to overclock it to 3,2ghz. -
reminds me of Turbo buttons computers used to have on them... like 486 DX2 66mhz machines with a "turbo" button... all it really did was when turbo was off was cut the frequency down to half and "turbo" was normal operation.

Too bad Apple didn't go with the P9700 for the 2.8ghz option due to time tables. Hopefully they will offer it as an option
to cut down on the heat and power requirements a smidge.
2.8 processor vs. 3.06 processor... both 35W?
