There has been an ongoing and as yet to be fixed issue concerning CTO Macbook Pro's with 7200 RPM drives. I would be interested in knowing if any of you who have purchased a Macbook Pro (since June 2009) from Apple with a 7200 RPM drive, have NOT had this issue. Can you please include your hard drive information including Firmware/Revision number, and when you purchased your Macbook Pro.

Tinderbox & lixuelai,
Thanks for the news. I have been following that thread on Apple Support for a few weeks now including this morning and did not know it was announced today. One concern I have is that the revision "0007APM2" has been out for a couple of weeks on the latest notebooks being shipped. It seemed to solve the problem, but there have since been reports of it definitely solving the beeps, but some have reported the pausing/hanging has returned or continued. Apple's statement on the download page reads "MacBook Pro Hard Drive Firmware Update 2.0 reduces certain infrequent noises ". I must say as much as I want to believe Apple knows this fixes the issue, the fact that people have been given the run around for so many weeks, and the fact that the most serious problem related to this issue is the pausing and hanging; I am wondering why doesn't Apple say that it does in fact solve the pause hang problem instead of just saying it "reduces certain noises".
