If u dont mind, give us your GPU-Z pix as well ^^
P/s: 3dmark often higher in vista but not that ~ 1300 point higher as in this case. It 's just slightly higher, usually 50 ~ 150 point difference is acceptable

Ok, just ran some Crysis benchmarks and I'm pretty satisfied. Keep in mind I have the baseline 1999 MBP, stock Boot Camp drivers and no OC.
1024 x 768 w/ all medium settings
Silky smooth. Probably 90% of the time I was looking at 40+ fps. Heavy combat usually stuck above 30fps and more often low to mid forties.
1280 x 800 w/ all medium
Roughly the same as above though with a few fps shaved off here or there.
1280 x 800 w/ mixed high and medium, ie high texture, particles and water, medium everything else. Probably would be my optimal setting. You still get most of the eye candy, an average of high twenties fps but very seldom dipping below 20.
1440 x 900 w/ mixed settings as above
Still very playable, average of about 20-23 fps, but in heavy combat you'll dip into the high teens at times.
1440 x 900 w/ all high (just for giggles)
Unplayable. 5fps max.
Not bad in my opinion, especially since I'm not really into heavy FPS games like Crysis. My bet is that with some laptopvideo2go drivers, a modest overclock (no thanks) and a nice custom setting for Crysis you can get some very good performance.
edit: has anyone figured out how to enabled the 9400 in XP? -
wow,i guess those are very good results for mbp-
1)why didn't you try l2g drivers?
2)was it hot? -
I'm definitely going to grab some l2g drivers, just haven't had a chance. I still want to put it through a battery of tests on all stock settings.
Surprisingly, no it did not get very hot at all. The fans spin up, but not all that loud. The best thing about the new build is that the GPU is now in the upper left as opposed to the last-gen MBP which, I believe, had it right under the left palm rest. The few times I gamed on a SR MBP I remember my palm getting pretty toasty. If you touch the bezel up above the keyboard it's still quite hot , but not really near the palm rests or keyboard. -
good good!and if you letter post some results with l2g,it will be even better, still, + rep for you
-
Thanks for the benchies! +rep
So then, what do you guys figure the improvement over this would be with 4gigs of ram, higher CPU and 512mb video?
(I'm talking base config vs $2,499 config) -

There is an nVidia FAQ article that said that the 9400M is disable under Bootcamp by design.

Strangely the default resolution for my MBP is 1280x1024 and I can't make it run in 1280x800 for the basic edition.

c'on guys

Not really a benchmark, but I've been running both MAss Effect and TF2 in 1440 x 900, all high and V sync, buttery smooth.
-
Not very impressive.

@Mikespit1: can you maybe run Fraps and hit us with a couple of screenshots? That would be awesome, cheers!
@PhilFlow: is that the Macbook 9400? Because it can't be the Macbook Pro, that score is even lower than my 8600m GT...
@Mike105: that's not a bad score actually, can I ask what drivers?
Keep'em coming guys! -

So is there any way to get a gpu-z type screenshot of the 9400M?
-
-
-
so what's the final verdict? What kind of 3dmark06 scores does the new MBP get and on what resolution does it get it?

has anyone tried the new forceware drivers? Supposed to be a huge gain in performance on some games.
