after doing some research in this forum and the internet im almost certain that i'll purchase a Macbook Pro and its been almost 10 years since i last used a Mac so i want to experience their OS. I'll probably wait until early next year though and i have a few questions regarding bootcamp.
1. are their any problems or incompatibility issues with wifi when running windows via bootcamp?
2. how do you utilise iSight in windows?
3. can the apple remote control powerpoint presentations? is there any way to program it to do so?
4. can any tv tuner work on the OSX
5. around what time or how often does Apple usually update/anounce their MacBook Pro Range?
-
1. I believe the latest version of Boot Camp solved the major hardware compatibility issues, and WiFi should work 100%.
2. ----
3. Yes. You can use it in iWork, I believe, as well as MS Office Mac Edition.
4. ----
5. The general lifespan of a MBP model is about 6 months. That said, I don't think you'll see an update until at least January, when Penryn hits the market. -
To fill in the answers:
2. As of now there are no plug and play methods to use the iSight camera in Windows. Apple is working on it, and should have drivers by the time bootcamp final is released with leopard.
4. If you can find a tv tuner that has OSX drivers, then yes. Here is a list from newegg.

5. As bona fide said, around 6 months. I wouldn't be surprised if the form factor got a small update as well with the next hardware upgrade. -
Thanks for the fast replys. i'll probably purchase one straight after the next update
. just one thing about question 3 will i be able to control powerpoint presentations while in windows version?
-
The apple remote cannot control presentations in office 2007 under bootcamp 1.3, not sure if anything has changed with boot camp 1.4, if anyone can do a test that would be great.
-
Boot Camp 1.4 listed support for Apple Remote pairing...not sure if that means the remote can be used for Powerpoint though.
-
I think that at this point you can only use the remote with Mac apps.
90% Sure im buying a MBP just got a couple of Q's
