    Guys i was wondering, if apple has that student discount for apple stores and online, does Portable One accept student discount? I suspect they are an authorize apple reseller store so would they still do that for students?

    I doubt they offer Apple's discount. They may have their own, but not Apple's. For instance, CompUSA does not give you the student discount. But to be sure, I would email them, I am sure they will be very helpful.

    I always thought you had to buy the Apple through the school itself -- to get that student discount. BTW -- how much of a discount are we talking about here?

    Apple offers the student discount online and in Apple Stores as well. It varies from item to item. Here is a link to the education store:

    The discounts can actually be rather good, and it applies to nearly everything, not just computers.

    you don't have to go through the school, although some schools will get an even better discount than the normal education discount from apple.

    definitely call up portableone or email and see what they can do, but honestly, I would just get it from Apple, their customer service is fine and if you have an Apple store in the area just go there.
