    Hi,

I am trying to find a good place to buy a macbook.

Since i am a student, I can get the education discount. that'll bring the price for the base system to 999$ + free 4GB nano + free printer.

Also have a friend who has access to AAFES. I am wondering if they have a better price or not.

    anyone has some hint?

AAFES ----> Army Air Force Exchange Service.

Basically the company in charge of retail establishments at our military bases. And no, they don't have any Macbooks. :)

While the AAFES near me does not have macbooks in stock, their online site (aafes.com) does. Their macbook is $1069, which is more than the one you're looking at. However, if you are buying from the brick-and-mortar apple store, aafes might give you a better bottom line price. Gotta love that no tax thing ;)

EDIT: After re-reading that first post, I would go ahead and get it from the apple store. The free Ipod and printer make this one a great deal.
