Well, I've been looking at gettin a macbook pro, and I've decided to get the 2.4 model. Since I am going into college, I've been looking at the ADC student membership and have been considering it, since I think it comes out cheaper than with the student membership(If I calculated correctly, 20% off, then 8.5% CA sales tax on the discounted price). Only problem is that I'm 17 and wont be 18 until November.

So, my question, is can you sign up for ADC at a macstore. The reason I ask is because I could just take a friend w/ me, and have him sign up for it and I could just tell them I'm paying for his laptop or something like that.

The answer is NO. If you want the ADC discount, you'll have to wait until after November. I'm pretty sure that anyone can sign up to be a student developer, but to receive the discount you must be 18 and provide fairly extensive proof of your age/enrollment in school. You'll probably have to wait until you turn 18 to begin submitting the paperwork to be approved for the hardware discount.
