Home insurance. Talk to your insurance company to find out if you might already be covered.

There is no accidental coverage plan from Apple.

Check with a few retailers. If you buy from Circuity City, they have a MacBook 4-yr Accident Protection Plan for $499.99. Unfortunately, CC does not sell the MBP.

IMO it's better investing in a really good laptop bag than buying protection plans.

i have a really sturdy and thick intel laptop bag, and i've dropped by macbook twice already (inside the bag, of course).

and the baby still runs like new.

and of course use common sense like don't place a hot cup of coffee really close to your laptop.

People also use the protection plan as a scam, ya know. The smart ones, anyway. ;)
