Did you ever see the Airport Icon on the top-right before? If you didn't see it when you bought it, then you are left with 3 possible reasons:

    1) The Airport card does not exist in you computer.

    2) The Airport card does not have the drivers installed.

    3) The Airport card is not connected to the PCIe port or it is broken.

What I imagine happened is when you were replacing the HDDs, and you accidentally unplugged it. There was another person on the board that this exact same thing happened to and when I replaced my HDD, I could see where you could unplug the card...its actually easier than you'd think!
