Many times I see threads here about the CPU temperature being hot. I got a kicker for you here, where in my MBP I just noticed (using iStatPro) that my Airport card is registering a whopping 57 degrees celsius. I don't trust the reading, but it has been hovering at this temperature for a long time now. Should I be worrying? Its a few degrees higher than the CPU diode temperature...

mine is running at 47C with the cpu at 47C with fans set to 2400rpm, airport card might just be located near something else hot.

I just checked mine. Airport card is running @ 43C, CPU @ 42C and fan @ 1800rpm. But mine is the white macbook though.

my airport card runs really hot! i think it is "normal".. all wireless card i have (external usb, pci, etc.) runs rather warm.

57" is rather very warm though. if you were to use the wireless card intensively, eg. multiple download/viewing of webpages, torrent or what not, i suspect it will become hot.

My MBP's airport card can go up to 60 C but its usually about 4 C higher than the CPU. When switched off it can drop by as much as 25 C.
