Where is their an alarm clock?

When I'm cooking and not in the same room a count down timer would be great since I can't hear the microwave

We have a guy in our office who put a slice of pizza in the microwave then went to have a conversation on the other side of the building. When he returned, he found a crowd of people staring at the smoking mess in the microwave. Note: A pizza slice takes 20 seconds not 20 minutes. Note: Don't leave the area after hitting start. Note: An alarm clock wouldn't have helped this guy.

But wait... Why doesn't time machine include an alarm clock feature? I could set it for 30 seconds or 30 minutes and have it wake up every mac in the house and have the built in voice remind me of whatever I'm worried about forgetting. Better than a remembrall (first Harry Potter movie).
