I know this is a very, very, very vain question, but I spent half an hour Googling "aluminum macbook logo illuminated" and "aluminum macbook logo light up" and didn't come up with any results, and I can't drive over to the Apple store because it is about 40 minutes away.
So here's my question: does the logo on the back of the new Macbook Aluminum light up in dark places, light up in general, or does it not light up at all?
-
Yes, anytime the screen backlight is on the Apple glows white.
-
Yes, it still lights up! Its basically the same backlight that powers the screen, so the brightness of the logo goes up and down according to what screen brightness you set.
-
Great.
And the previous gen white Macbook does not have a light up logo? -
No, it lights up as well. Apple has been doing this for a very long time.
-
No, its always been lit up, for a long time now!
-
Yea, the white macbooks appears a lot more subtle because there is nearly no contrast but yes, it lights up at the same rate as the backlight of the monitor, (found through experimentation) so if you keep a white macbook dim it probably wont appear lit up.
-
And it goes off when your macbook goes to sleep hahaha
-
I discovered that when you point a laser at the .Apple logo, its glows red
-
I also found it through experimentation
. I remember thinking "I wonder if the logo backlight will burn out" and then realizing that would mean the screen backlight is also burning!
