Am I the only one with a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family in his macbook??

I recently tried to install HL2 (from the orange box) on my one year old macbook, in windows running from bootcamp, and I got a 'runtime error r6034'. I checked the forums and most people have the gma 950 or the x3100 as their integrated video card.
Do I have a 'special' notebook with a graphic card that has no compatibilities with hl2 or is there a special driver or patch I should be looking for?

Crashes occur when HL2 is autosaving.
To prevent auto-saving, mark the following files as read-only in the hl2\SAVE folder: autosave01.sav, autosave01.tga, autosave.sav, autosave.tga. link

 

I really don't know if HL2 is playable on the x3100 or not, but you could try updating the graphics driver at intel. As a matter of fact, I did yesterday and it fixed some graphical issues I was having with one game (don't know if it would fix your problem though). Also, do you have the latest patch for HL2?a

Intel 945 drivers. (Just in case you have the gma 950).

 

Thanks, I did not know it was the x3100! haha
but the problem persists even with the updated intel drivers - HL2 still doesnt want to load, I cant go to the menu panel of the game or even get the intro cinematics
It just says RunTime error r6034... ??

It seems it may just be as simple as renaming a file, or changing the launch parameters.
