I just switched to Thunderbird on the Mac and whenever I now connect to my domain e-mail, I get the following warning message:

"You have attempted to establish a connection with mail.XXX.com. However, the security certificate presented belongs to *.gridserver.com. It is possible, though unlikely, that someone may be trying to intercept your communication with this web site. If you suspect the certificate shown does not belong to mail.XXX.com, please cancel the connection and notify the site administrator."

My question: is there any way I can suppress this message or avoid it? I have googled all over the Net and even contacted some technically inclined folks but no one has a solution that works.

I never saw that on Thunderbird but I know that firefox had an "accept permanently" option for that type of warning. Do you see anything like that?

No unfortunately the dialog box only presents Yes, Cancel and View Certificate buttons. The latter shows a dialog box that allows you to view certs. I guess I need to get a cert from my ISP?
