Does anyone have suggestions for anti-virus software? Does anyone even use anti-virus software with their Apples?

I used to use avast! with my old Windows-based laptop, which was a free antivirus application available that worked pretty well--anything like that for Mac OS X?

Also, I'm a little unsure what settings to use with the built-in firewall in Mac OS X--anyone have any tips for me? I surf on my iBook using a Wi-Fi connection at home and occassionaly at coffehouses.

That's not true...Macs CAN get viruses, but viruses are much more rare on the Mac platform... so most people don't even use anti-virus software for them.

Look and reade or go to the apple store they will tell you if you get a virus it wont do **** to your computer. The reason why they have a virus scanner is bc it would be transfered to another pc if hooked up or email it to someone

The reason why MAC's don't get many virus's is because virus writers only write virus's for the OS with most Market share and the OS with the most Market share is Windows.

So true, so true. I may affirm that there are more holes in the Windows security, but the truth is that more people target the largest market share.
