This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Any Recent iMac Owners?

    Did a quick search for iMac reviews but didn't see any for the recent iMacs (particularly the 24" 3.06/1TB/G130 card). I am curious about a few things.

    1. Is the heat under control?
    2. How well does the 1TB drive work (speed/noise)?
    3. Is the NVidia G130 a solid card? (I know I can upgrade to the ATI, however I can get the prebuilt with free shipping/no tax).
    4. How are the speakers?

    I am sure I can find reviews on professional sites, but I'd rather here what some users in the home environment have to say and how these components work in tandem vice their separate reviews in other applications.

    p.s. Posts about how I can get more in a M$ Windoze desktop for my $$ need not apply...
