In other sections in this forum, people are saving $300, $400, $650 thanks to some weird coupons. Is there no such thing for macbooks??
-
No. Not really. What you see is what you get. Apple does not follow the price high sell low model that companies like Dell do.
-
No the prices are pretty much set. You can get student discounts though. They also provide discounts for the ADC members.
-
You might find an online retailer such as Amazon having a $50 mail in rebate special but thats about it (other than student discounts)
Edit: Actually Amazon has a $75 MIR for Macbooks rights now -
Well student discounts gets more (around $100). Meh. But Visaperks.ca (Canada) can take off another $65 (so $165). Wish I could bring it down by another $200, and that would've been sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

Yeah, they just stick with the 'price high, sell high' scheme.

KelchM is right. Apple does not have to have to use annoying coupons to sell their products. Apple can charge whatever they want for their products because they monopolized Mac OS. I cannot buy Mac OS with any other laptop manufacture. -
That is correct I suppose. Apple shows you a price, and you can take it or leave it. With Dell and the like, they have to make you feel like you are getting a good deal when in actuality you are paying what they want you to pay.

I agree. That is 100% true. I like that Apple gives you the price with no hassle. Trying to buy a Dell is annoying. First, you have to compare the business laptops with the identical home office laptops. Second, compare every single coupon available to see which is the cheapest price. Finally compare the cheapest coupon price with the cheapest of the 3 business options. Dell also thinks it is fun to change the prices every few weeks so you cannot plan your purchase ahead of time. -
Dell follows the "price high, sell low, upsell on warranties, and lose customers' laptops" scheme.

Partial credit.
The Inspiron laptop warranties are as worthless as Apple's warranties.
The Latitude laptop warranties are the best value for any laptop manufacture.
Any good coupons like the ones in Lenovo forum?
