Steve Jobs has confirmed that led screens are coming to the laptops this year.

I'm not waiting for Santa Rosa to purchase my MBP, I'm getting one as soon as my office clears the requisitions. There might be some advantages to it, but in my case they're not worth the delay in getting a Mac, but each person has to decide that for themselves.

Will Santa Rosa run Powerpoint any better? Will Photoshop scream faster to the point that a wait until who knows when is worth it? Not for me!

Just my .02 worth! I just can't wait any longer!!!!!!

You have got a good point gms238, but I don't quite really need it yet, so I am holding off. At some point, though, I will go for it regardless, and soon.

If you can wait, wait, thats what everybody says on these forums. The longer you wait, the better technology you'll get. I personally didn't, I expect the difference between C2D and Santa Rosa to be marginal.

Little to be gained from waiting for Santa Rosa, 45nm Intel chips aren't that too far off from when SR MacBook Pros would be released, and so the cycle continues.

I'm glad I didnt' wait, the same discussion has been going on since last december. I've had mine since January. I haven't seen any new rumors, except that the graphics solution for laptops is still in the works. That would be my biggest concern if I was looking for a new MBP, cause with out the dedicated DX10 graphics.. it's just another MB, or no better than todays generation.

I don't believe the Santa Rosa upgrade will be revolutionary, especially in the Mac lineup since Apple does not employ the entire Centrino platform, only bits and pieces. I agree with Jimy though, a DX10 card would be a big deal.
