Don't believe it, there's no way Apple would forget to do something that stupid.

Well there is a big company backing them just who it is no one knows, but I'm not sure if that would be a smart thing for Microsoft to do. Hell it wouldn't be a smart thing for any computer related company to do.

I don't think Psystar knows what they're doing:

And, if for some reason this is invalid, Apple can just go and file for copyright right now and stop Pystar from selling any future computers with OSX:

Yeah that's how I thought copyright worked. I couldn't see Apple not registering for copyright or doing what is need to have copyrighted. Specially with all the other people sueing them in the past.

Psystar will definitely go down in history as one of the most useless companies ever.

they didn't even provide a legitimate service. anyone that knows how to follow step by step instructions can do the exact same thing on their own time, for cheaper than what they are providing, with a better solution in the end. Not to mention they are just trying to make money of something that someone else worked hard to achieve, and have already provided in many forms for free.

Why Psystar thinks it deserves to make money for this is beyond me.

or they can just buy a Mac, problem solved. I can't believe this joke has gone on for this long, someone needs to let Psystar know that they have no chance at anything.

and for the record, has Psystar ever looked at a copy of Leopard? it is all over the place. If I was richer than I am I would make a personal effort to bring these idiots down, and make them pay for all the time they have wasted. That is what Apple needs to file against them also, an absolute waste of time, we could have had a new Mac Mini by now if it wasn't for Psystar ^_^

Isn't OSX based on Unix which is open source. I ain't no expert on copy rights law but wouldn't that have caused a headache initially?

    Come on.

I'd like to see Psystar survive. I dislike all of Apple's hardware offerings, though they have a great OS. But Psystar can seriously do better than this.

for what reason? Psystar is merely taking someone else's work (in this case the work it took to reverse engineer OSX to run on other hardware) and is just trying to make a buck off someone elses already available work. which is most likely GNU licensed, so just one more reason why Psystar can kiss my ***.

even if they weren't going to be completely shut down, they would never sell any computers anyway, because anyone that has even heard of them probably already has the knowledge to build a PC and get OS X running on it.

it was a doomed "company" (wait, doesn't a business need to offer and actual service?) from the beginning because it provides nothing that isn't already available to anyone willing to look.

think about it, it is similar to this situation. say Dell decided it would start shipping machines with OS X ready to install with instructions to do so. it is a direct breach of the EULA, amongst other things. what do you think would happen? and to compare it to Psystar, say when Dell did this they just decided to purchase parts from an average computer retailer and build random crappy machines without even putting in any R$D or design effort.

oh, and to top it off, they didn't even take the time to develop their own process of installing OSX...they stole it from someone who is providing it for free under non-commercial use licenses.

Sounds like your afraid of being 'special' and able to say 'well, I don't have computer trouble, I own a Mac'

Be prepared. Those days will finally be over soon. Embrace the change dear one. There is nothing you can do to stop it!

Apple just borrowed an OS from some professors and universities and put lip-gloss over it. At least Microsoft wrote the NT-kernel. Apple should get real programmers and design their own kernel.

If that was true, every member of Apple's legal team would be fired ;)

Why does anyone believe this junk?

This is just the patent for the dock in OS X. It took them 9 years to get it. They also have applied for a multi-dimensional dock.

So rather than using a working, well designed kernel that's proven itself, Apple should have started from scratch and wrote their own? Do you even bother to read the BS you're posting before you hit "Submit"?

If you have nothing better to do than bash Apple, take it elsewhere, please. It's getting a little tiresome reading the same thing every time you make a post.

Since when did apple steal their OS? And Microsoft re-wrote their script cause they had to. Apple has no reason to, it's already close to perfect.

I definitely feel that Psystar is just being desperate at this point. You would think they would capitalize on all this publicity to launch Windows PCs, now that they have the publicity and the courts (and Apple) obviously won't give in to them.
