Does anybody know if Leopard fixes the issue with the Apple Keyboard's usb 2.0 slots not being about to charge peripherals such as the iPod & iPhone when connected to the MBP? This is the one drawback that is preventing me from buying it and I thought maybe Leopard fixes this.

Leopard does not resolve the issue. When you use the new Aluminum Apple Keyboard's USB2.0 ports with Macs other than the Aluminum iMac some devices will not work properly due to Low Power. This includes the iPod & iPhone.

So is this not able to be fixed via a software update? Is it a problem with the hardware itself?

It's the hardware. No software update will be able to remedy this issue. That's my understanding.

You could potentially get full functionality from the keyboard's USB2.0 ports by connecting it to a powered USB hub, though I have not tried this.

What puzzles me is how the Mac Pro cannot power the Keyboard enough, and only the iMac can. I mean, notebooks you might be able to argue, but not even the Mac Pro?
