The actual keynote will take place 9/9/15 and with that will bring lots of industry talk. I wanted to dedicate a thread for this exciting event and I hope some of you will share your opinions and bring some discussion here. Personally I own a few apple products and I have other products so while I am not Apple biased I still get exctited during these Apple press events and though I may not actually plan on owning the thngs shown or discussed I still enjoy the general show as entertainment and I look forward to your reactions.

Thanks and please comeback soon :hi: when the event starts

It doesn't look as though Apple and Nvidia are doing any business since their last macbook went with AMD's R9 m370x @ 2gb. I also think with the constantly thinning construction, bragging rights to battery efficiency, and <90w design on the magsafe charger we won't see a mbp with cards like the 970m since it would consume power that the mbp can provide and cause more heat that the mbp can cool. It would be throttling like crazy with anything more than say a 950m unfortunately.

in other words, they are no longer considered professional grade, but rather efficient and thin. i would love to see a strong Apple mobile workstation contender to go against dells mobile precision.

i think apple should develop like a G series for people who want better graphics performance,idk...like a MacBook Pro RetinaG series..i mean i am not a serious gamer anymore, but i do like to occasionly play...the r9 is fine for me but i would have liked to see a 960m atleast

Gamers are a subset of a subset of a subset of the Apple user base. They want professional users to use the Mac Pro and its workstation GPUs. Unless Tim Cook suffers from a brain hemorrhage, what you're asking for will never happen. Ever.

Alpple does market them with gamers in mind. Even now in the apple store when they advertise the mac books they note how the powerful intel core are ideal to play the latest and greatest 3d games. The keynote is today If they note a new mac book line i hope it has a a new retina 4k touch screen and a nvidia in the new design.

Macbook pros have never been "professional grade". They only ever came with mid level graphics capability, never really anything that approached pro class.

That being said, I would love to see a macbook pro 15 with some actual teeth, like a GTX 970M.

A clickbait second-hand report by a third-rate website. Apple rumors are only to believed when the company makes formal announcements.

All this becomes moot with skylake and Thunderbolt 3.
With Intel licensing it for external gpu's you'll be able to get an external egpu, even a portable one for plugging in on the move or a full grade desktop gpu!
They should ditch discreet gpu's altogether and have an apple branded thunderbolt egpu for that minority that may need it.
As a gamer it makes a future macbook pro a reality for both work and gaming.

Even though there was no mention for any macbooks they could still release something this year. I was waiting the whole time for a mb announcement and none happened but hopefully we will see some refreshed mb's by october they have done that before.
