Sorry if I post this here but it's kind of urgent.

    I pre-ordered/ordered a 32GB iPhone 3G S the moment the buy link was up...

I just realized it was an impulse buy...

I just realized im set to leave to Germany France Holland Beijing New York and Chicago from the 23re to August 4th (When i'm in NY)...

I just realized how F***** I am right now to some extent...

So do I cancel my order?

I leave on the 23rd, so I could have my iPhone by then but I will be paying an AT&T bill for 2 months and not use my iPhone at all, better yet, no MMS and Tethering support until later this summer! Not to mention if I don't activate it within 30 days I get slammed by AT&T even further!

I am definitely sure I will cancel but I just want some opinions and stuff like that...

No comment on my previous actions pleace :D

PS: Would buying my iPhone in NY @ The Fifth Avenue Flagship Store be smart, make me cool and redeem my idfkw?
That's right when I come back to the US...

AT&T doesn't have tethering yet. No US carriers do, legitimately at least. Everyone knows that you can download a few apps or pull a few strings to get it working but apparently carriers can see if you're doing that.

You can always return it. I do believe theres some kind of 30 mins talking or 30 days return policy for carriers. You just need to call and find out. I say cancel if you can, and just buy it when you get back

In any case for Beatsiz, it's probably best if you return it if you aren't using it. As you say, they'll probably have figured out the MMS and tethering issue by the time you come back. Seeing how iPhone OS 2.0 wasn't exactly the most polished OS when it was first released, the definitive polished iPhone 3G S experience probably won't emerge until August anyways, so it's probably not a big loss.

It's not being released until June 19th

So I just hit "Cancel" and then "Confirm Cancellation" and... VOILA!
    hahaha

I guess I'll have to enjoy 3.0 on my iPod Touch until august and stick with my god awful Samsung Omnia!

I really like the fact that iPhone users get Free AT&T Wifi :)
Using WMWifirouter can get tedious, but I have figure it all out perfectly (just have to make sure WIFI is in the wireless list, if not, battery out, reboot lol)

I will buy it after I roam Europe and China, ending up in NY @ Fifth Ave Apple Store :D

PS: If anybody craves a 13" MacBook Unibody 2.4GHz for a MacBook Pro 15" with removable battery PM me ;)

Love that store. Infact I might take a walk there today for the hell of it (im on 50th street). As for the iphone 32GB is awesome (albeit expensive) but If you have one of the previous models I still see NO reason to upgrade. I kept my 1G iphone , until i switched to blackberry a few months ago.

You like NY? I am planning on going to Pratt or AI or TISCH or whatever since I'm not too sure yet...

I will get my iPhone @ 5th Ave for sure :D

I only have an Omnia, so definitely getting the new iPhone!
But I am kind of wondering what they might release in October...
    Naaah, can't go too wrong...

Jailbreak it, unlock it and pay for what ever time you are in those countries with a local carrier. I think if you call AT&T you can get them to hold your service for the 2 months your out of the country.

    http://www.iphone3g-mods.com/

    EDIT

or you can get it, have them hold your service, not cancel it until you come back.

I think I can survive not having it until I come back...

Buying it at the 5th avenue Apple Store in NY will make my purchase special :D
Versus getting it in the mail... hahaha

And I don't see the use of it in Europe without 3G, MMS, TXT, CALL, EMAIL etc...

I'ts not the first time I am going to any of the places, It's like my second homes, but I'll survive with my 3.0 iPod Touch (Just installed it :)) and my Canon G9 ;)
