Apple is responsible by pressuring its supplier so much that they go and push its employees to suicide. It's not acceptable and Apple's answer is out of place. Steve Jobs should have personally taken this into his own hand...

You do know that these kinds of things are not particularly uncommon in China right? This is a very Confucian thing. Happens in Japan etc too.

That's such BS and the OP should be embarrassed for the thread he started. Apple is in NO way responsible. People make their own stupid decisions.

Apple is choosing to work with companies that allow such actions.

We are talking about a human life. If working in China is resulting in death of employees or child exploitation then they should have the balls to not work with them.

Apple is responsible... They have been one of the only companies with Dell able to keep secret on their products until the day of the launch. Those secrets come with a price but when that price is human life than they should back off...

Ok let me break it down to the OP.

Go through your house pick up any amount of random items. How many of those items say "Made In China"?

    I rest my case.

This employee was in a way murdered and denial is not going to help move things further. Yes Apple is not directly responsible for this death but they are responsible for working with Foxconn and this is not the first reported incident.

Knowing this they should find another partner...

Actually not many... I buy mostly from European store and locally. There is little of mine from China besides my Iphone. My PC is made in USA, my TV in South Korea, my stove in Europe, my couch in Europe, all the rest of my furniture is made in Italy or USA, my clothes and bed is made in Morocco and France...

    I rest my case.

Only fools who do not value human life buy made in China.

It's no joke, people need to know that Apple is choosing to work with a company that does not value human life.
