Here's the deal. I purchased my mac pro 13 last black friday nov 26 in an apple retail store. But i wanted to return and exchanged it with mac pro 15 i5. But when i called the apple retail store where i bought it from, an apple employee told me that i cannot return it amymore since i am past the 14 days. Is this true? I read somewhere about the apple holiday return policy that allows items purchased bet oct 30 to dec 25 to be returned through jan 8.

    "Holiday Return Policy
Items purchased at an Apple Retail Store between October 30, 2010, and December 25, 2010, may be returned with an original receipt or Gift Receipt through January 8, 2011. If the item is returned in the original box, unopened, with the original packaging, we will exchange it or offer you an Apple Gift Card. Refunds will be granted through January 8, 2011 only when an original purchase receipt is provided and will be based solely on the original method of payment.

This holiday return policy does not apply to iPhone or wireless service contracts. All other Apple Retail Store purchase policies apply and your statutory rights are not affected."

they may also refuse to take it back. That seems to depend on individual stores

Yeah, I would think they might refuse the return if opened. After all, the purpose of this extension of policy is to permit zero-net-loss Christmas gift "upgrading", not to generate inventory for Apple's refurbished goods stock.

Call me cynical, but I don't think Apple's Christmas spirit is is pure benevolence, it has a purpose that benefits the bottom line.

    Jus an update guys

I was able to exchange my mac pro 13 with mac pro 15 without a problem :) the apple rep even waive the restocking fee without me asking for it. He just basically told me that he waived the restocking fee.

This proves that apple retail stores do implement holiday return policy. You can bring back your purchase items and ask for exchange and refund until jan 8 2011.
