Since Im considering purchasing a Time Capsule at some point, Im also considering Applecare for my MBP 13", as it will also cover my Time Capsule as well.
If I purchase Applecare, how do I set it up? I cant find the receipt for my MBP, although its still within its first year warranty (checked online). Do I need the original receipt to set up Applecare for my MBP?
I see Applecare available via eBay at less then half Apple's price. Is it safe to buy via an eBay seller with good feedback?
The only concern I have, is although these sellers have good feedback, I hear that the Applecare stops after a few months due to dodgy codes etc. By this time the seller will have received their good feedback and the buyer will not be able to do anything more!
Anyone purchased via eBay?
If not its also pretty cheap through Play.com (£130) so I could buy through there knowing I have a little more protection if anything should happen?

Apple care will setup by using the Applecare SN. then your MBP SN. So your original receipt should not be needed if you registered your MBP with Apple.
Have no idea on buying Applecare from ebay. Some are probably OK you will just need to find out. There was a similar thread 6 mo ago. -
There have been many problems with Apple's Time Machines, and I would suggest finding a better solution, one with firewire for faster backup times

the Time Capsule isn't bad really either.. there were some runs of bad drives early on that caused an uproar... the only real problem with it is that its very slow to backup over wireless. -
Hmmmm, now Im tempted to just get an Apple Wireless Extreme router and connect my own external drive to it.....!
-
It supposedly supports going to a USB drive connected to an Airport Extreme Router, but I haven't tried it, I plug in my Time Machine backup every few days directly and just let it back up. -
really? apple routers are legit?
because my wireless routers configured with DD-WRT seem pretty awesome.
Applecare.....
