OK...I think this will be my last question before I go ahead an push the order button.
AppleCare seems very useful, but very expensive, already given the premium being paid for the MBP itself.
I am assuming most people will say it is worth getting, so I won't go there, but I was hoping someone could let me know if there is a cheaper place to get it (EBay, Amazon, etc.). And when will AppleCare for the MA895LL model be available at non-Apple-store places?
I am assuming you can buy Apple Care after the fact of buying the computer. Is that a wrong assumption?
Thanks.

I won't go on and on about the applecare but remember you are dropping roughly 2k dollars on a laptop if something should go wrong you don't want to poking yourself in the ass later wishing you bought a 240 dollar warranty. Since you have a 1 year limited warranty you do have up to 1 year to purchase the extended Applecare warranty. -
I do also get another year extension to my 1 year warranty because of the credit card I am using. So I really have a 2 year limited warranty. But point taken nonetheless.

if you are planning on getting a new laptop in the next 1-2 years, then you may not need it, but not that many people do that, and wisely so, even if you are able to throw cash around like no other, it still doesn't make too much sense.
honestly I don't think there is a cheaper place to buy an Apple computer than Apple itself. -
This is how I got my MBP back in Dec '06 -
Don't know if this applies but certain credit cards (Amex comes to mind) extend the warranty coverage of your product by an additional year FOC - so you might look into that.
