I've seen so many people that have claimed they have gotten AppleCare (for a MBP) for the last 5+ Mac laptops for < $150 on Ebay. Care to divulge your secrets on how you got this price? Most buy it nows are $260+ and almost all other auctions start bids at $200. Currently a seller puts a BIN auction every few hours for $210 and they don't last very long. Is that my best bet coupled with the 20% off MS Live paypal reimbursement?

You may also want to search google shopping. There are reputable stores selling AppleCare well below Apple's retail.
We used these guys for AC on a Mac Pro with no problems:

ebay, I found apple care for macbook pro last week and ended up buying it now and paid $219 with shipping for my macbook pro last week.
-
^^ That's even better than the student discount ($239).
-
How do you get 20% reimbursement? Do you have a link? Thanks!
-
How does it work, do they actually ship you a box? Is it legal to resell these?
-
go to http://www.live.com/. Search for something like "cheap wii." In the results, an ebay link advertising cash back should appear (it appears to be 25% off now). It will take you to ebay. Purchase any "buy it now" auctions. Under the confirmation screen will be the amount of live cash back you will receive. You must use Paypal. In about 6 weeks, you should be credited that amount to your paypal account. I ended up getting AppleCare for $170.

I got my mbp applecare for $199 CAD (apple charges $399) from a retailer here in Canada. They had it on sale $100 off (as they periodically do); their regular price on it is $299. They shipped me a box that has the activation code in it as well as an apple diagnostic CD-ROM (which isn't necessary as you can download the contents of that CD-ROM online).

Hey ATC,
what's the retailers name in Canada.... I might want to buy it hehe
-
SIG Electronics (Ontario). You have to just time it with their sales to get it at $199 otherwise like I said it's normally $299, which is still $100 cheaper than apple. And remember you have up until one year after your purchase date to activate applecare so no rush in buying it.
One way to keep an eye out on sales is redflagdeals, but be careful as that site is trouble for your wallet.

haha thanks,

Thanks, but can't seem to find the link. Does anyone know if this works in Canada?
-
Wow that's cheap!
For me at school it's $199 for MacBook, $259 for MacBook Pro, $129 for iMac, etc.. -
Thanks for the info, I think I may try this. Do eBay sellers usually just send you the AppleCare code to input and not the entire box?
-
Yeah typically they just email you the code.

Schools and universities will often have very very nice deals with Apple because the education market is one of their main targets, thus these kinds of prices. The exact prices might vary from one educational institution to another though I imagine.
AppleCare--How do you get it so cheap?
