Today I logged onto Gizmodo, and saw an article about optimizing your Mac for the best performance ... and it linked me to this article ...

    http://lowendmac.com/eubanks/07/0312.html

I've mostly done everything on there so far, except these start up items ...

I was just disabling some of the startup crap ... and I disabled "Stuff it" from starting up when I turn my Mac on, I also disabled "iTunes helper" ...

And all that were left were 2 other items ...

    MagicMenu
    Archive Assistant Scheduler

I have no idea what MagicMenu is, should I disable it from starting up?

Also, I noticed that the Archive Assistant Scheduler is the only PowerPC thing running in my tasks ... while all others are Intel. What is this? Can I disable it, or should I leave it alone? I want as less crap running on Rosetta as possible as I need the most from my machine as I use it mainly for heavy DAW (music) apps ....

Thanks for the help on these 2 things guys ....

Also, have any of you used this Monolingual app before? I'm interested in stripping all these languages out that I don't use ... rather than having to reinstall OS X again, and everything else. I just want English and Japanese support. If you strip everything away tho, can you still read that text on the website, or is it all squares like it is on Windows?

Yes. Disable MagicMenu. It is a useless piece of uberresource hog from the StuffIt app.
Archive Assistant Scheduler is also a piece of StuffIt resource hog, although it does not exist if you are running StuffIt 11.
If you delete all the language files, you will still be able to read the stuff on websites, although if you wish to change your OS language to say, arabic, you will have to pop in your OS X install DVD and install the language files.
