Does Apple make a power adapter for the 12 volt automotive power plug for the MacBook Pro?

If there isn't one on their site then no. I don't think you can even run a notebook like that with out a converter.
-
Cheapest option is just to get a 120VAC power inverter for the car and use your regular power adapter. I've seen some 3rd party magsafe adapters but they are ridiculously expensive ($89+).

Jeeeez
how in the heck do they expect a person to try to drive and surf the internet at the same time! -

Found this on Amazon. Only $39.90. Could be worth a shot?

I ran my MBP on a converter while I was driving (or rather I drove and my wife ran the MBP) with no problem. Just plugged it in and the thing ran smooth.
Good luck -
I wouldnt trust these 3rd party made magsafe connectors... Apple is already in lawsuits over them...
if you want to trust them, buy now before they are gone.... but any warranty from them could be gone later.. and any damage they may cause to your machine you better try to make sure Apple doesn't know about if you go in for warranty. -

Personally, I wouldn't trust a power supply for my laptop other than the original, or genuine replacement. If I buy a replacement Apple power supply and it fries my laptop, odds are Apple will take care of it repair. If I buy a 3rd party power supply and it fries my laptop, Apple will promptly empty my wallet for any repairs necessary.
Do a Google search for 12V power inverters (or even check eBay) as you can get a decent one for about $20 and then not have to worry about using a 3rd party power adapter. -
As Snork said the easiest, cheapest and safest way is an inverter which is easily gotten either on line or even locally at stores like Radio Shack or Best Buy.

Not worth the risk in my opinion...
These things get 4-6 hours of battery life. How many times are you in a vehicle for 4-6 hours? You could think of it like that.
