Well, I'm heading out tomorrow morning, a two week trip to Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin and Hohhot. Good tour of China. I will have limited to no internet access during the trip, so don't expect me to be around!
I wouldn't normally post a thread about it, but as there just were new iPods announced, and more Mac notebook rumours/news will be bound to show up during these next two weeks, not to mention Budding and cashmonee is also busy, so I think its important to just give everyone the heads up.
The other moderators will be filling in, making sure the forum is free of spam, discussion is civil and under control, there aren't too many duplicate threads, etc.
Lately, there have been more closed threads here on Apple due to arguments and off topic discussion, so I'd like to remind everyone again to be civil and respectful; if you do not have a productive comment to make, don't make it.
See you all in two weeks!

Sam,
Safe travels! -
This section will fall apart with out you :| I'll try not to destroy it to much.
I'm assuming your going to see the terracotta army? I've always wanted to see those.
Have fun! -
I think this belongs in OT. One more warning and you're banned for 3 days Sam!
Have a good time!
-
Yes, I am going to see the Terracotta Warriors, that will be awesome! Not to mention my first visit of my true homeland (born in the British colony of Hong Kong). I'm a history lover myself, and Ancient China...well, its on par with Rome and Greece for history and culture!
Johnny T has volunteered to help cover for me while I'm not here, and several other moderators may step in as time goes by! -
Enjoy Sammy, this forum will miss you greatly. For some reason 2 weeks will seem like an eternity without you around, hopefully everyone will behave themselves.
-
Have a good trip Sam
-
i'm chinese myself, even though i was born here. I've been to china many times
I have got to say that guilin is my favorite part. Its sooooo pretty if you go on that river cruise. Just don't eat the food provided
The terracotta soldiers will be awesome too. Just be sure to be ready to face a whole bunch to try to sell you random stuff outside when you are leaving
Have fun!
P.S Depending on where you live in the States, the Peking Duck in the states are better than the ones in Beijing (at least in San Diego) :O -
Have a great trip Sam!

Can I ask where is Hohhot please?
-
Hohhot is in Inner Mongolia, a region in China but very much Mongolian culture. I'm in Hohhot right now
. It is a city of 2 million so its not as laid-back as it may seem. I'll be back in Beijing tomorrow, but still not too much internet.
-

Hope you're having fun, Sam!

You bet I did
. The trip to Beijing, Hohhot, Xi'an and Guilin was amazing!
Hard to imagine its time to head back to school and settle down from what I consider real learning, real world education. But I guess this is way it'll have to be, until later on.
So back moderating NotebookReview full time now! -

*Oh and as nerdy too. -
Nuh uh!
I'm known as the 21-year-old and the 10-year-old...I act 21 (probably even older) at times, and 10 at times. 21 on NBR-ish, 10 in person usually.
Away for two weeks!
