Speaking of Azureus, here's an annoying problem I have with it:
Is there a way to get rid of the original .torrent file after it's opened with Azureus?
I already have a specific folder for Azureus to store my .torrent files and Azureus saves to there just fine. However, when I dl a .torrent, it goes to my desktop, and regardless of how I open that file (i.e. via the import from location automatically feature or simply from running that file), that .torrent file stays on my desktop afterwards. I have no need of two copies of the .torrent file.
Is there a way to set Azureus up so that it'll delete that initial .torrent file?

It wont automatically delete the .torrent file if you actually download it. After it uses the torrent to create its own .torrent file in its own folder it ignores the original file.
There isn't a way for Azureus to delete the original file, but did you know you didn't need to save the .torrent to run it? All you need to do is click "Open from here" instead of "Save" when you download the .torrent and it will open up in Azureus without ever even downloading the .torrent file to your desktop. Azureus will still create its own copy in the special Azureus folder.
If you don't want to do that, you could change the default download location to the Azureus .torrent folder. I wouldn't recommend that though, the "Open from here" method is fine. -
The 'open from here" method doesn't work though, because it still stores the temporarily file on the desktop, which it won't remove afterwards. (i.e. even in windows, when you use "open from here", it downloads it to the temp directory and opens it from there).

I have an idea for Azureus in OSX - maybe not exactly what you're looking for. Change the default location for downloaded files in your Internet Browser (I have created a Folder on the Desktop called 'Downloads'). Then Uncheck 'Save .torrent files' and Check 'Import new .torrent files automatically' in Azureus and make the Import Directory the same location as the default location for downloads of your Browser. Then when you download a .torrent it will automatically begin downloading (at the selected interval). Also you'll only have one copy of the .torrent file, however it will be .torrent.imported. Anyways, that's what I do, not sure if it's exactly a solution for you.
I don't even use Azureus in Windows anymore. uTorrent is much better, but if you decide to try it, download version 1.6.1. -
I'm doing something like that for the Desktop right now. The main problem is that the browser I'm using doesn't allow you to specify locations based on file type - so all files will get downloaded to that "Downloads" folder, which can be a pain, especially when a ton of .torrent or .imported files begin to clutter that folder up.
This shouldn't be such a hard feature to find/implement - even Transmission has this function by default.
Utorrent still hasn't been ported for OSX yet - and of course, if you're only willing to use up to 1.6.1, then you probably wouldn't care to use utorrent when it moves to OSX anyway since it would be Bram who made it.
Ah well, I guess I just have to manually delete them one by one. -
It really shouldn't be THAT hard.
I just select them all and drag to the trash. Its very easy (only takes about 4 seconds).
