    I have taken adavantage of this rebate twice before. I got the rebate check less than 3 weeks.

    that sucks I just got a MBP with the student discount, I didnt think it would be here till August or so.

    What touch do you get? Anyone think I have a chance of getting one still?! Or is it for purchases only off the apple online store?

    When did you buy it? Give apple a call, i know someone who received a $150 goodwill credit after pleading their case (not personally, I just read it on another forum)

    Argh. I purchased my macbook on Sunday, just 2 days shy of the promotion, and I got it at Best Buy =\.

    Somebody on the macrumors forums said that their best buy honored it and did it differently as you dont have to send in a rebate, they'll just do the price adjustment or something like that. I called the Best Buy I bought it at and they said they weren't =\. Oh well.

    I'm torn because I was looking at getting the new MSI notebook with the 4670 for $700AR.

    However, I saw that my school has a special that includes a 13.3 inch macbook white, Mac Office, and I Pod Touch for $849 AR.

    I'm really torn because I like the macbook, but like the power of the MSI. I will probably use bootcamp for a version of XP and some gaming like Company of Heroes or Civ.

    $149
    I get a touch
    I get OSX

    I loose video card power

    I already have office for PC and have multiple versions of windows through my school.

    Is mac coming out with anything new.


    Also more importantly how would it handle HD content?

    Does the apple player play Blu Ray movies from the get go?

    How about HD DVD movies?

    I have a blu-ray/HD DVD Lg drive in my main desktop that I can make images of to play on my laptop.

    there's no blue ray for macs.

    i suggest you go for the msi because you get better gpu and larger screen. if you will use mainly pc for programming, there's no gain in using macs as they get hotter than pc's on windows.
