Okay so I'm getting Leopard tomorrow! Big happy day!

This is my question. I wanna do a clean install so I'm backing everything up to my external. Now since I upgraded to the 08 suite, my iPhoto Library turned from a folder to a single file "iPhoto Library".

Is it enough to just stuff this file onto my external and then put it back when I reinstall iPhoto in Leopard?

iTunes music is just a big folder and I guess I'll do the same with it.

Would very much appreciate your input guys. Cheers! :D

Yeah, just take the iPhoto library file and copy it to your external hd, same with your music folder. Another option for iTunes is to use the backup to disc option which will back up to cds or dvds. Quite handy if you don't own an external hd, but you do, so yeah :p lol

No problem. After you finish installing leopard, just put the music back into the music folder, and when you open iTunes, it should automatically start adding all the music.

Yep, it might have to rebuild the thumbnail cache, which should be fairly fast on your mbp.

I did a clean install also and copied the iphoto 08 library file but when i add it back to my leopard iphoto 08 all the events and thumbnails etc are messed up. All the original copies and edited photos ( edited in iphoto) are there and everything is just so messy. How can i fix this? Thanks

What do you mean messed up? And how did you back them up? You just copied the library file to the pictures folder?

Did you choose the import to library option or did you place the library file inside the pictures folder? Also, could you take a picture of your screen?

The only way I could get the photos imported was to drag the old iPhoto library file into the iphoto app window. It then imported the photos but everythig is unorganized. The modifed photos and original photos are there. For ex vacation event is there and.vacation2 which has the modifed pics. Also, photos in the trash are there if the trash wasn't emptied.
