Hi guys
I'm wondering what causes my battery to drain insane amounts during sleep mode?
I literally have the flap down, and bluetooth is off. I only have logitech vx nano receiver plugged in but the mouse is offf....
I lose nearly30-40 percent of my battery life over 12 hour span of sleep mode wehre it's at a full charge before...
Any ideA?
Thx

Sleep mode still uses battery power. For 12 hours, it's not unusual to lose 30-40 percent when you are in sleep mode. If you lose that much when you shut down, then that's a problem.

Like in the Glade commercials, "Plug it in, Plug it in"

schwann is correct, although I think 30-40 percent after 12 hours is a little too much. Is it possible that the wireless mouse receiver is still getting usb power while the laptop is sleeping? I don't know if apple machines power their usb ports while in sleep mode.
I suggest removing the receiver before going to sleep mode. See how fast the battery drains without the receiver plugged in and compare that to what you are seeing now. -

guarantee you that receiver is draining the battery power. i have a vx nano with my macbook pro. try shutting the lid with the receiver in place, then wait a minute, and then try moving the mouse around.
you will notice that the laptop wakes up (with the lid closed).
that means that the adapter must have been powered the whole time. if it was off (not searching for a signal) then it wouldn't have been able to detect the mouse motion.
the mouse will properly go to sleep if you don't move it for a while (to preserve mouse battery). it is basically "instant on", unlike bluetooth, so you probably won't ever notice. however, the receiver adapter doesn't have that functionality, if it's plugged in, its on.
