    Hey all,

So I have a 17 inch MBP (Early 2011 edition) with a 750GB 5200rpm HDD. I'd like to get a SSD in it, as it's painfully slow loading applications with this hard drive.

Does any one have any recommendations for a reliable and fast SSD to get for a MBP?

Have you ever used a SSD before? If not, you'll be fine with a SATAII SSD like the Intel 320. Even a "slow" SATAII SSD will run laps around a 7200RPM drive.

Also, note that higher capacity SSDs tend to be faster than lower capacity SSDs of the same model line. for example, the 160GB Intel 320 is faster than the 120GB Intel 320.

via trim enabler, sometimes its plain not worth it. I dont use it anymore, I just go and use disk utility to write some zeros on the empty space
