Stardock makes an Mac-OSX-like dock for windows called Object Dock. Its quite good, and offers a bit of customization. There is a free version available, but the full version ($20) offers the ability to do a lot with the dock. The full version allows you to make several dock bars, which I wish was possible with the Mac OSX dock.

None-the-less, the dock in Mac OSX is very well made to begin with, so thats another plus on my list.

I don't believe that OS X has any stand out features.

I like rocketdock better... it doesn't use as much memory, and it free. I like Linux over both OS's ATM, because I have the security of OS X, as well as customization abilities like windows. Not to mention it's free.

I think the finder is a little underpowered. Try Path Finder, its the Finder on steroids.

I am in full agreement regarding Disk Utility. It's great to have this one in the box.

On the other hand, there are a number of things in OSX that need supplimental programs as well.

OSX ZIP file support is one thing that comes to mind. The "all or nothing" approach, and the inability to browse zip file contents leaves a lot to be desired.

That aside, one of my favorite features in OSX is its Unix based file system. Particularly, the concept of the "home directory" and the naming of disk volumes that it brings. It just makes more sense and enhances the organization of files.

The whole "My Documents" thing in Windows was one of my peeves and the need for drive letters was another.

Really? I like the way the data folders are organized in Windows.

Drive letters definitely. It gets very annoying when you have a lot of flash drives plugged in too.

Which is just another thing I like about Mac OS X. With OS X, the flash drive is read and recognized almost instantly, while Windows, depending on what PC you're using, sometimes it can be so frustrating that the drive isn't recognized until like ten minutes later.

Anyway, I don't have a Mac, but the things I admire most about OS X are:

    - The layout/organization of System Preferences -- Someone mentioned this earlier... it's much simpler than Vista's control panel layout IMO
    - Lack of drive letters. I don't know why Windows still has drive letters.

I also love the dock, and I like Expose too... it's nice that OS X comes with those things out of the box, but since you can download stuff like that for Windows, it's not such a big deal to me.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and immunity to 99.99% of malware rocks too!
