Hey guys,
I have heard that the desing of any apple product is infalliable especially the awesome macbook..
But then, the acer ferrari 4006wlmi and ferrari 5000 seem to beat the apple design..(so as everyone in my school says..)
What do u guys think??
Acer ferrari or Apple Macbook???
PS-Im voting for the Macbook(black)..

I voted the Acer because it doesnt look like a chopping board or placemat.
-
You should include the new Acer Lamborghinis as well, they are very good-looking. I'll vote with my white MB though.
-
From seeing both black and white MB's in person and the MBP, I have to say that "chopping board" or "placemat" never jumped to mind as things they could be compared to.
-
acer does look a lot nicer but i have always wanted an WHITE APPLE glowing in a dark club and spinning music.....so black MACBOOK it is what I voted!
-
Yeah, I'm not terribly impressed w/ the Acer... and it's an acer, so i wouldn't touch it anyway.
I thought macbooks were ugly till I saw one.. they're actually really nice. the MBP are just freaking sweet though. -
I like the Acer's, but the Ferrari stickers kinda kill it for me. I like them and all, but what exactly do the have to do with the notebook?
-
The Ferrari stickers make it faster.
-
Didn't you know that stickers add 5 hp each? That's why rice rockets and race cars have so many stickers on them.
-
Are you (original poster) kidding? Macbook Pro, hands-down. No competition.
To each their own, though... -
If you look closely at the acer Ferrari you will notice that the red at the sides is not exactly Ferrari red. You might even get sick of it after a while. The case is just not that tight. The apple is tight looking. Macbook White or Black are gorgeous, seriously Apple is one stylish manufacturer. I am actually baffled there is a comparison involving an acer. I voted white macbook.
-
The Macbook Pro by far, an obvious choice. The Blackbook is also hawt but that Macbook Pro is Stuning.
-
I still can't figure out why you'd ask something like this in an Apple forum.
-
Yeah, you shouldn't post a poll like that in a section of just one brand, you should post it somewhere else lol, except if people like #2 poster come in and post
-
Is there a forum specific for this question?? If so please enlighten me..
And i would post all me threads there from now
And if u havent noticed the poll has 3 options pertaining to apple macbook..
So should i post in "what notebook to buy" section..
Also i noticed that u posted in the alienware forum when i was going through it...
When an apple owner can post in the alienware forum cant an alienware owner post in the apple section?? or an acer user?? -
Nono, I don't think anyone ment that, I think it's just, if you ask a question about Apple in the Apple forums, the majority of the people who read this forum praise apple, thus meaning that your responses might be biased, if you get what I mean, like if you posted this in an Acer Forum, the ferari probably would have more votes then it does here in the Apple forums. Sorry if I said anything that made you mad.

I don't like the extra large bezel around the macbook's screen or the look of the atm style keyboard on the macbook so I voted MBP.
I own a glossy blackbook. -

Everyone happy now :O -
Don't worry, Apple fans are capable of going to other forums here and throwing off the polls too....
-
what the hell was that??
How did u get the macbook pro colored?? -
It's not just any macbook pro... it's a Ferrari Red MBP
Just for you
Hahahaha -
Not sure how that MacBook Pro was done, but ColorWare has been doing custom Mac and PC painting for a while (not that this stuff is NOT cheap..... you can buy a new one custom painted from them, or have them do it to your existing computer........ i.e. they charge $449 to custom color a MacBook or MacBook Pro)
http://www.colorwarepc.com/
EDIT: Ok, yeah, looks like that is a Colorware custom job, they use the same photo in their photogallery: http://www.colorwarepc.com/products/select_MacBookPro.aspx#Tab -
Hmm, I've been to numerous forums and no one seems to know if having your Mac done by Colorware will expire your warranty or not, I'm assuming it does because of why Colorware offers warranty on all Mac components.
-
I remember this question coming up before; as you guessed, it does seem to void the Apple warranty. Apparently part of the fairly expensive cost of the ColorWare service is sort of factoring in their warranty coverage.
-Zadillo -
I also believe it does. They completely remove the casing which would void the warranty if you were to do that.
But wow, those looks really nice, just not a month of rent nice. Wouldn't mind getting my ipod painted. -
Just for ur reference.
It's the Asus Lamborghini.
And I voted for the Macbook Pro, I simply love the Aluminum Casing Design ^^;
It's a glamour. -
Yeah.. and a costly one at that
-
I voted Blackbook. I especially love the ATM keys. I guess I would have voted MBP if I was not so used to looking at my whopper 17" Powerbook for over a year. Besides, to me the black MB looks and feels metallic and tight; solid. Never handled the Ferrari 5000 but doubt if it could give such an impression.
-
Quite personally, if the Black Macbook was actually metal like aluminum and had the same texture, I would have bought that over the white one.
-
Is the casing of the macbook plastic??
-
Yeah it is, however its not cheap plastic, very thick and strong.
-
but susceptible to scratches right??
Which is more susceptible MBP or MB? -
I don't really know the answer to that honestly, because I have invisibleshield on my Macbook, however I would assume it is, so its probably a good idea to get something like invisibleshield.
-
The MacBook casing is sort of surrounded in a transparent lucite sort of plastic that can be scratched (although various polishing solutions like "Apple Polish" can get rid of most microscratches). A good case/laptop sleeve is a good idea though to keep it from getting scratched up. Even when they do get scratched up they're still generally ok though (my mom has an old iBook G3 which has a fair number of scratches in the exterior of the case, but since the whole thing is white anyway they aren't that easy to notice).
-
But im gonna buy the black one..
Is it worse?? -
No, the black MacBook has more of a matte finish. The only "problem" it has really is that fingerprints, etc. can sort of show up.......... it's a good idea to carry a microfiber cloth around in your case so it can be wiped down.
Even the black one could technically be susceptible to serious scratches, so it's still a good idea to take care of it, at least keep it in a laptop sleeve, and possibly use InvisibleShields.
-Zadillo -
I've got a white macbook, and the plastic is awesome. Of course if you smudge it or get prints all over it, a microfiber cloth will bring it back to factory condition.
Since it is white, and if I were to ever (dear I say it) scratch it, it wouldn't be very visible regardless.
HOWEVER- with the blackbook, I've heard that if you manage to scratch them, if it is deep enough you will see white, and a white scratch on a blackbook would be just heart-wrenching.
I got my black incase neoprene case today, should fit about perfectly, like a glove. And they might have changed it, because it took two weeks to ship, but it looks like there is internal protection between the zipper and macbook now.- which is a very good thing. -
Nothing that a permanent black marker cant fix!
-
Yo kabooky.. How much did your macbook cost along with the hard drive and RAM upgrade and tax??
-
I would guess just under 1600 if he got a student discount and paid average prices for the ram and HD.
-
macbookpro ,acer makes nice travelmates, but ahh macbookpro still has it
-
I'm torn between the black Macbook and the Macbook Pro. The MBP is just so sleek, but I've always loved the black Macbook.
Best lookz Title??
